June at Jacaranda Records

Last month at we had album launch shows with some of the most exciting young artists, we showcased a great performance from our open mic nights at The Jacaranda, and had Jamie Webster pop over to record in our Voice-o-Graph machine along with much more!

Described as a ‘boy wunderkind’, Alfie Templeman already had four EPs to his name aged 17, and he joined us at Phase One to celebrate the release of his debut album ‘Mellow Moon.’ The LP of which is beautifully crafted, from the gatefold, to the inner sleeve, to the beautiful splatter vinyl itself.

Next up, all the way from Nashville, Tennessee, came Sophie Allison AKA Soccer Mommy for the release of her second album ‘Sometimes, Forever.’ You could hear a pin drop between the songs during the performance, the respect and anticipation from the audience truly made this one special.

Last but certainly not least, we headed down to EBGBS to host Alt-rock renegades Nova Twins for their album launch. The new and critically acclaimed album ‘Supernova’ was chosen as BBC1’s hottest record, and Georgia and Amy certainly brought the Heat to Heebies basement!

In the middle of the month, we had the second batch of Record Store Day exclusives. Due to delays at pressing plants, some of the special releases scheduled for April didn’t quite make it in time for the day itself. From Chet Baker, to Sampa The Great, Prince and Paul McCartney – there was a whole host of special editions which was great to see everyone get their hands on.

As for the video releases this month, we chose Black Utah perform his track dedicated to dads titled ‘Neil Young’ from our Open Mic Sessions. Lois Levin performed as part of our Basement Tapes series to showcase the release of her latest singles ‘Burden’ and ‘You Don’t Make Me Feel Good Anymore.’ Lastly, Jamie Webster played ‘Something In The Air’ in our authentic 1948 Voice-o-Graph Machine.
