SHARDS emerge with new nostalgic track, 2020 (I want to go home)

[23 Oct 2020]

After releasing their first single, ’Reflections’, the four-piece band from Liverpool has been placed firmly on tastemakers’ radars including gaining support from BBC6 Music. The young band demonstrated their huge potential, beginning their careers with notable support slots with the likes of Black Honey and Tim Burgess. More recently, having just stepped off the M&S Bank Arena stage to play for Liverpool Digital Music Festival twice this year.

SHARDS’ music envelops profound anxieties wrapped up in a romantic, dream-like setting.  Their lyrics can be dark yet the melodic pieces are packaged in a beautiful soaring soundscape. 2020 (I want to go home) signals the beginning of a string of releases from the “dream-gaze shoe pop” quartet.

“2020 encompasses the feeling of safety, nostalgia and the comfort of youth. A feeling of everything in its right place, approaching adulthood, this feeling is ripped away, revealing all the anxieties of life and coming of age.” SHARDS

2020 (I want to go home) is out on all major streaming platforms on the 23rd of October 2020. The track is available in Dolby Atmos on Tidal and Amazon Music HD.
