May was a month of diverse musical energy at Jacaranda Records, with Eurovision in town and a roster of both seasoned and up-and-coming artists lighting up the stage. Ellie Goulding and Tim Burgess were the headlining acts, but they were just part of the rich tapestry of talent that graced Liverpool’s iconic venue.
Our contribution to the official celebrations throughout the city included performances by Reverend And The Makers, Birdy and The Lottery Winners at Jacaranda Phase One, followed by a stand out show from The Zombies at The Cavern .

Rising Stars: Maxine Zain and Dr Orange
In terms of emerging talent, Maxine Zain and Dr Orange were standouts in May. Zain released her emotionally raw track ‘Don’t Touch Me’ on May 5, making a significant impression on the local music scene. Meanwhile, Dr Orange released a powerful single titled “17” on May 10. The track, dealing with the issue of young people being drawn into far-right politics, marked a new chapter in his music career and was his first release on Jacaranda Records
