Aimée Steven drops her new single from home, Darling

[15 May 2020]

Aimée Steven has released her latest track – Darling – on Jacaranda Records.

The highly evocative track, accompanied by a hand made video produced at home amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, marks the latest stage in the Liverpool based singer/songwriter’s steady climb up the UK music scene.

Aimée began 2020 by sweeping overwhelming support from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music, Liverpool FC TV, Radio X’s X-Posure playlist, BBC Radio Merseyside, BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Introducing, for her first single of the year, the aptly titled ‘Hell Is A Teenage Girl’.

Her second single, ‘Darling,’ has already gathered the continued support of Liverpool’s ThisFeeling and Gigslutz, featuring as their Track of the Day, after being included in their selection of Best New Bands in March. Having also achieved support from music writing staple Bido Lito!, Aimée has proven that onwards is the only way to go, engaging heavily with the local music community to share her music with the world.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio’s Jermaine Foster, Aimée credited her collaboration with producer/engineer Jon Withnall (Coldplay, Rhianna, Elbow) for encouraging her stratospheric rise.

Enormously proud of her home city, Aimée will also be taking part in the recently announced Liverpool Digital Music Festival next week, to support NHS Hospitals and the Save Our Venues campaigns.

Having written music for two years and performing for just over a year now, Aimée shows no signs of stopping her accelerating popularity amongst the music community.

Jacaranda Records’ Capomaestro Ray Mia said: “She has a lot of raw talent, but more importantly, Aimée is a grafter. She gives every project her all, knows the importance of collaborating with a team, and is learning how to trust and work with the people around her, she’s a pleasure to work with as she just gets on with it, you never think she’s wasting time on imagineering a future about how successful she may or may not be.

“It’s that combination of hard work and mutual respect that is powering her steady ascent and I couldn’t be happier for her. She richly deserves everything she is achieving, and if she continues in this vein, the sky really is the limit. It always takes talent and feet firmly on the ground to make it – I’ve seen it first hand. Shout out has to go to Jon also, he’s the real deal”
