Liverpool’s iconic Jacaranda announces new record store and 400 capacity performance space in the Baltic Triangle
65 years after opening on Slater Street, Liverpool’s iconic Jacaranda is opening anotherpremises in the Baltic Triangle – Jacaranda Baltic.
The new Jacaranda Baltic site is made up of a record shop and a 400 capacityperformance area, located inside Cain’s Brewery. The record store, the latest iteration ofthe Jacaranda brand, will stock a curated mix of local and international artist’s newreleases, along with all the classic albums you expect to find.The performance area, Jacaranda’s largest and most ambitious to date, already has arange of huge artists set to play there. Tom Odell, Dizzee Rascal, Shed Seven, Castand Red Rum Club are all set to perform live on-stage and launch their new albumsfrom Jacaranda Baltic over the next few months.
The launch of the project in the Baltic Triangle also marks the start of a new era for theoriginal Jacaranda. The first floor of the world famous bar has had a full refurbishmentto transform it into the city centre home of the award-winning Jacaranda Records.The shop at The Jacaranda will be open seven days a week from 10AM until 6PM,while the Baltic shop will be open Thursday to Sunday from 10AM until 6PM, makingthem the go-to places for vinyl in Liverpool.
Graham Stanley, Managing Director at Jacaranda said “The Jacaranda Baltic project is definitely the most ambitious thing we’ve done as a business! We’ve tried to put Jacaranda DNA in every fixture, corner and brick of the new premises.”
The Jacaranda has been a staple in Liverpool’s music scene since the 1950s with manylocal bands still playing their first gig there. In 1960 John Lennon, Paul McCartney,George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best played their first show together at thevenue, which was the band’s first under the name The Beatles.Jacaranda Baltic is the latest addition to the Baltic Triangle’s ever-growing music scenewith music venue Content and record shop Matsuri Records both being launched in thepast 12-months.
The Jacaranda Baltic record store is set to open its doors for the first time on Friday12th January at 10AM with a special gift for the first few customers. The first albumlaunch show is on Tuesday 23rd January, which will be Tom Odell launching his sixthalbum Black Friday.Veselin Mihaylov, Head of Bookings at Jacaranda said “We’re excited to bring some of the world’s biggest acts to Liverpool and the BalticTriangle.
