Jacaranda to host global george Harrison ‘Living In the Material World’ listening party featuring new unreleased material

Tomorrow, Friday 15th November, The Jacaranda will hold a global listening party for the 50th anniversary edition of George Harrison’s Living in the Material World, starting at 5:30 PM. This special event will feature newly released material and a fresh mix of the album, put together by Dhani and Olivia Harrison. Fans will be among the first to hear these remastered tracks, mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Paul Hicks, which bring a brighter, richer sound to George’s iconic work.

The Jacaranda is excited to welcome everyone for this unique celebration, especially since George has a long history with the venue. Reflecting on the significance, Head of Bookings Veso Mihaylov said:

“We’ve hosted many official listening parties at The Jacaranda, including events for The Rolling Stones, Fontaines D.C., and Charli XCX, but this one feels special due to George’s connection with our venue. It’s been 64 years since George played his first gig as a Beatle here at The Jacaranda, and tomorrow, the same space will be filled with people listening to his music, celebrating 50 years of this iconic album. It’s a full-circle moment, and we couldn’t be more honoured to share it with our community.”

Olivia Harrison shared her hopes for listeners revisiting the album, saying,

“I hope you revisit Living in the Material World or discover it for the first time, and as you listen, share George’s wish for himself and mankind… Give me Love, Give me Peace on Earth.”

Dhani Harrison echoed these sentiments, adding,

“Finally, we are overjoyed to present to you the 50th anniversary package of George Harrison’s Living in the Material World. For those of you who are just discovering this album; This record was released in service and with deep love for all our Brothers and Sisters around the world who populate this dualistic system we live in called Earth. Peace be upon all sentient beings.”

The Jacaranda invites fans and friends to join in at 5:30 PM for a special evening honouring George Harrison’s music, history, and enduring message of peace.
